On Saturday 15th September, the Highland Games return to Kirkcaldy and – as before – we remain a world first … the only Highland Games be to staged on a beach! Our Waterfront provides the perfect stage from which to view this unique combination of culture, sport and entertainment.
Kirkcaldy’s Waterfront is set to present the fourth UK Beach Highland Games on Saturday 15th September, hosted by the local BID Company, Kirkcaldy4All.
It is an event in the town’s calendar that’s not to be missed. What’s more, it is free to watch. Lots is planned, not only to entertain folk of all ages but to encourage participation – all starting from 10.30am.
There will be Highland dancing, athletic running events and the traditional heavy events – all on the beach. The storm road will also be home to local stall holders. After the Games, make the most of the day and wander back to the town centre to one of Kirkcaldy’s numerous cafes, restaurants and bars. The Games are a spectacle like no other set against the stunning Firth of Forth – colourful displays of dance together with races, the evocative pipes and more.

There are kids running races down on the beach. They will begin around 12.30pm. There’s no need to register, just turn up on the beach before then. Hope you can make it along!
