The UK's 1st Beach Highland Games - in Kirkcaldy!
This event was scheduled for June but had to be postponed because of the weather. A new date has now been agreed - 23rd September 2017. We hope you can join us!
Featuring a unique combination of culture, sport and social entertainment from heavy athletics to Highland dance, Highland Games are a must for any visitor to Scotland. But how many are held on a Scottish beach? The answer to that is…one!
Kirkcaldy’s Waterfront is set to present the third UK Beach Highland Games, hosted by the local BID Company, Kirkcaldy 4 All. A sight not to be missed! What’s more, the event is free to watch.
There will be lots for all the family to enjoy...and even participate in...including pipe bands, a parade, Highland dancing, athletic running events and traditional heavy events. And new for this year, there will be a tug-of-war!
The Games are a spectacle like no other, set against beautiful Scottish scenery – and in this instance, the Firth of Forth - with colourful dance displays and an exciting atmosphere, make sure Saturday 23rd September is firmly marked in your diary! This is another event that needs the support of the local residents and puts Kirkcaldy on the map as the ‘UK's 1st Beach Highland Games’.
