Come and join us FREE OF CHARGE on Kirkcaldy Prom on Tuesday mornings from 8th May 2018. A great way to start your day – with fresh air, fantastic views and exercise tailored to suit you!
Fitness classes for over 55s in partnership with Kirkcaldy 4 All and Gulzhan Ibrayeva
Kirkcaldy Waterfront Mile (meet at the Harbour end)
11am – 12 noon
Tuesdays from 8th May 2018
This fun group exercise class will cater specifically for those aged 55 and over and will be delivered by qualified trainer Gulzhan Ibrayeva.
The session will include warm-up exercises, a brisk walk along the prom, circuit-type exercises and a cool-down. The session will be tailored to the abilities of the group. Participants should come dressed in comfortable clothing, suitable for the weather conditions.
Physical Activity Guidelines, Scotland for older adults state that those who participate in any amount of physical activity gain the following health benefits (Department of Health, 2011):
- Helps maintain cognitive function
- Reduces cardiovascular risk
- Helps maintain ability to carry out daily living activities
- Improves mood and can improve self‑esteem
- Reduces the risk of falls including maintenance of good physical and cognitive function.
